Lorenzo Pellegrini will undergo an MRI scan on Thursday, October 22, after a right hamstring problem forced him off during Roma’s 4–0 Champions League victory over Slovan Bratislava.
The midfielder underwent initial checks today, with further examinations needed to establish the extent of the injury and assess his recovery time.
Pellegrini Forced Off Against Slovan
Pellegrini started alongside Rodrigo Mora behind Donyell Malen at the Olimpico, but his evening ended prematurely in the second half.
The Roma number seven went down after feeling discomfort in his right hamstring and was unable to continue, with Matías Soulé replacing him.
According to ANSA, Roma must wait until tomorrow’s examinations for a clearer understanding of his condition.
Recovery Could Take at Least Two Weeks
The most optimistic scenario outlined in the latest report is a return in approximately 15 days. However, a more significant injury could keep Pellegrini sidelined until after the next international break.
Neither timeframe is confirmed. The MRI will be crucial in determining the severity of the problem and establishing a recovery plan.
Another Setback for Gasperini
Pellegrini’s injury adds to Roma’s concerns during a demanding run of domestic and European fixtures, with Paulo Dybala, Manu Koné and Mile Svilar already unavailable.
His versatility had given Gian Piero Gasperini an option both behind the attack and in a deeper midfield role, making a potential absence another complication ahead of the trip to Napoli.
For now, Roma await the scan results before confirming how long Pellegrini will be out.
