Antonio Vergara has returned to Napoli’s squad for Saturday’s match against Roma, with Massimiliano Allegri naming 22 players for the Serie A encounter.
The teams meet at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on October 24, with kick-off scheduled for 18:00 Italian time (12:00 p.m. Eastern).
Vergara Back After Injury Absence
Vergara is available again after an injury sustained on international duty earlier this month. His inclusion follows a partial return to group training during the build-up to the fixture.
David Neres, Allison Santos, Favasuli and Alessandro Buongiorno are absent from the squad.
Amir Rrahmani is included after Allegri revealed during his pre-match press conference that the defender had been suffering from a fever. Scott McTominay and André-Frank Zambo Anguissa are also available for selection.
Napoli’s Full Squad Against Roma
Anguissa, Badiashile, Beukema, Contini, De Bruyne, Di Lorenzo, Gilmour, Giovane, Højlund, Lang, Lobotka, Lucca, Marianucci, Rafa Marín, McTominay, Meret, Milinković-Savić, Olivera, Politano, Rrahmani, Spinazzola, Vergara.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s Roma face a demanding test against a Napoli side seeking greater consistency after an uneven start to the campaign.
Vergara’s return gives Allegri another option, although inclusion in the squad does not necessarily mean a starting role.
