Manu Koné is progressing in his recovery and could return next week, with Roma hoping to include him in the travelling squad for the match against Udinese.
The Giallorossi are scheduled to head directly to Manchester after the league fixture, making the Udine trip an important step in preparations for their Champions League meeting with Manchester United.
Koné Could Travel With the Squad
Roma’s coaching staff will try to bring the French midfielder to Udine so he can remain with the group for the onward journey to England.
His potential inclusion in the travelling party would not necessarily mean he is ready to play against Udinese. The immediate aim is to have him alongside his teammates as he works towards a return.
Manchester United Remains in View
Koné’s recovery offers encouragement for Gian Piero Gasperini, who has been managing reduced options in midfield.
A return next week would provide a timely boost, but his availability for either fixture has not yet been confirmed. For now, Roma hope his progress will allow him to join the squad before it leaves for Manchester.
