Roma defender Devyne Rensch

Rensch to undergo tests after right adductor injury

Devyne Rensch will undergo scans in the coming hours after suffering a muscular problem in his right adductor.

The Dutch defender was forced off during Roma’s Champions League defeat at Manchester United, with Emanuele Lulli coming on to replace him.

The examinations will establish the extent of the injury and help determine how long he could be unavailable.

Roma await results

There is no confirmed recovery timetable for Rensch yet. The initial update identifies discomfort in the right adductor, but whether there is a muscle lesion will only become clearer after the tests.

His condition gives Gian Piero Gasperini another concern ahead of the Sassuolo match, with Roma already managing several absences during a demanding run of fixtures.

For now, the club must wait for the results before assessing Rensch’s chances of playing again before the international break.
