According to Calciomercato.it, Roma would only make a serious attempt to sign Richard Ríos if Neil El Aynaoui leaves during the final days of the transfer window.

Alfredo Pedullà maintains that Roma strongly admire the Colombian but have not submitted an official offer.
9:02 AM ET — Alfredo Pedullà: Roma admire Richard Ríos but have not submitted an official offer
According to Alfredo Pedullà, Roma have long held a strong appreciation for Richard Ríos, but no official offer has currently been submitted for the Benfica midfielder.
The report contrasts with CNN Portugal’s earlier claim that the Giallorossi had presented a proposal after opening contact with the Colombian’s representatives.
Tony D’Amico has reportedly contacted the midfielder’s representatives and submitted an offer to Benfica.
Roma have returned for Benfica midfielder Richard Ríos a player who has remained on the club’s radar since last summer.
According to CNN Portugal, sporting director Tony D’Amico has opened talks with the Colombian’s representatives to discuss the financial terms of a potential contract. Roma have also reportedly submitted an offer to Benfica.
The operation remains complicated because the Portuguese club are demanding at least €30 million. Benfica paid approximately €27 million to sign Ríos from Palmeiras last summer and are unwilling to accept a loss on their investment.
Ríos had previously been one of Roma’s leading midfield targets, but the Giallorossi were unable to complete the transfer and instead signed Neil El Aynaoui.
The Colombian remains appreciated by Gian Piero Gasperini, who is looking to add greater quality and dynamism to his midfield.
