6:03 PM ET — Richard Ríos not considered a concrete Roma target
Alfredo Pedullà reports that Richard Ríos is not currently a concrete midfield target for Roma.
Meanwhile, Gianluigi Longari reports that Beşiktaş have entered the race for the Colombian and submitted an official offer to Benfica on Saturday.
The Turkish club are therefore making a formal attempt to sign Ríos as Roma evaluate other midfield options.
The Portuguese club could allow the Colombian midfielder to leave temporarily, with Beşiktaş also showing interest.
Roma have renewed their interest in Benfica midfielder Richard Ríos, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Giallorossi previously monitored the Colombian but were unable to find a financially viable route to a deal. The situation could now change because Benfica are reportedly opening the door to a loan departure.
Beşiktaş are also interested in Ríos, creating competition for the 26-year-old as the transfer deadline approaches. No agreement or formal Roma offer has been reported, but the possibility of a loan could make the operation more accessible.
Roma’s interest may also be connected to Neil El Aynaoui’s uncertain future. The club are preparing to evaluate offers for the Moroccan midfielder, although they will only consider a permanent transfer or a loan containing a purchase obligation.
Roma had previously renewed their interest in Ríos earlier in the window, but Benfica’s valuation made a permanent move difficult. The potential availability of a loan now gives the Giallorossi another midfield option to consider.
