Monza hope to complete the move as early as Wednesday, but AS Roma must still approve the transfer and first identify a potential replacement for the Polish defender.
5:28 PM ET — Attilio Malena: Roma lean toward loaning Jan Ziolkowski
According to Attilio Malena, internal discussions over Jan Ziolkowski’s future took place at Roma on Tuesday.
The club’s preference is reportedly to retain control of the defender while allowing him to gain regular playing time elsewhere.
Monza are currently leading Parma, Sassuolo, Bournemouth and several other interested clubs in the race to sign the Polish international.
3:49 PM ET — Fabrizio Romano: Monza lead race to sign Jan Ziolkowski
According to Fabrizio Romano, Monza are now leading the race for Jan Ziolkowski and negotiations with Roma over a loan are advanced.
The Giallorossi would prefer to send the Polish defender out temporarily rather than lose him permanently, despite interest from Parma and clubs outside Italy.
A loan would allow Ziolkowski to gain regular playing time while remaining part of Roma’s long-term plans.
10:07 AM ET — Filippo Biafora: Ziolkowski’s agents working to find new club
According to FIlippo Biafora, Jan Ziolkowski’s representatives are actively working to find a destination for the Roma defender before the transfer window closes.
Sassuolo, Monza and Parma are among the possible Italian options, while reports from Turkey have also linked Fenerbahçe with an interest in the Polish centre-back.
9:57 AM ET — Attilio Malena: Bournemouth enquired about Jan Ziolkowski
Premier League clubs are also monitoring Jan Ziolkowski’s situation at Roma. According to Attilio Malena, Bournemouth made an enquiry for the Polish centre-back in recent weeks.
The Cherries join a growing list of interested clubs as Roma evaluate whether to sell Ziolkowski permanently or allow him to leave on loan before the transfer window closes.
The Giallorossi must decide between a permanent sale and a loan as Monza and two foreign clubs pursue the Polish defender.
AS Roma are considering their options for Jan Ziolkowski as interest in the defender continues to grow.
Parma have offered approximately €7-8million for a permanent transfer, while Monza have proposed a loan, according to Fabrizio Romano. Roma must now decide whether to sell Ziolkowski or allow him to continue his development on a temporary move.
Two unnamed foreign clubs are also interested and could submit offers worth more than Parma’s proposal. No decision has been made by Roma.
Alessandro Sbarbati reports that Ziolkowski’s representatives are currently at Trigoria as discussions over his immediate future continue.
