Roma striker Robinio Vaz, who is close to joining Hull City on loan

David Ornstein: Hull City close to agreement with Roma for Robinio Vaz

The Premier League club have agreed the framework of a season-long loan containing a €30 million option to buy, but the French striker must approve the move.

Hull City are close to completing a deal with Roma for Robinio Vaz, according to David Ornstein of The Athletic.

The proposed agreement would see Vaz join Hull on loan for the remainder of the season. Roma would receive a €2 million loan fee, while the Premier League club would hold an option to purchase the striker permanently for €30 million.

Filippo Biafora has confirmed that Roma and Hull have reached an agreement over the paid loan with an option to buy. However, the transfer cannot be finalized until Vaz gives his approval.

Vaz must decide on Hull move

Vaz joined Roma from Marseille in January after scoring four goals across 14 Ligue 1 appearances during the first half of the season.

The 19-year-old subsequently made 12 substitute appearances in Serie A for the Giallorossi, scoring once. He has also represented France at youth level, including for the under-20 national team.

Hull have already strengthened their attack following promotion to the Premier League, signing Joe Gelhardt from Leeds United and Elliot Stroud from AIF. The club have now identified Vaz as another option for their forward line.

Roma had previously resisted several loan enquiries for the young striker, with Gian Piero Gasperini interested in overseeing his development at Trigoria. Hull’s proposal, however, gives Roma the opportunity to collect an immediate fee while potentially completing a significant permanent sale.

The agreement between the clubs is in place, but Vaz’s final decision will determine whether the transfer proceeds.
