Roma and Olympique Lyonnais have held further talks regarding Malick Fofana, according to Santi Aouna.
All parties involved are reportedly confident that an agreement can be reached, while the Belgian winger has already given his approval to join the Giallorossi.
Roma must now find the final formula with Lyon to complete the transfer.
The Giallorossi continue working on Fofana and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens as Gian Piero Gasperini pushes for one final attacking addition.
Robinio Vaz’s potential departure could help Roma advance their pursuit of Lyon winger Malick Fofana, according to Angelo Mangiante.
Hull City are close to signing Vaz on a season-long loan for a reported €2 million fee, with a €30 million option to buy. The clubs have agreed the framework of the deal, although the French striker must still approve the transfer.
Vaz’s exit would create additional room in Roma’s attacking department and provide the club with an immediate loan fee. It could also give the Giallorossi greater flexibility as they attempt to complete one final offensive signing.
Fofana and Gittens remain Roma’s leading targets
According to Filippo Biafora of Il Tempo, Roma continue to work on both Fofana and Chelsea winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
Gasperini considers the attacking reinforcement an absolute priority and continues to press the club to complete its transfer window with a right-footed left winger.
Roma have intensified contacts with Bynoe-Gittens’ agent as they attempt to convince Chelsea to approve a loan. The Blues rejected Roma’s previous approach, leaving the Giallorossi waiting to discover whether their position has changed.
Fofana represents the more expensive alternative. Roma have already reached an agreement with the Belgian’s representatives, but must still decide whether to meet Lyon’s demands.
Vaz’s prospective move to Hull could now influence that decision as Roma evaluate the financial and squad implications of completing a deal for Fofana.
