Chelsea winger Jamie Bynoe-Gittens linked with a late loan move to Roma

Roma Consider Late Move for Jamie Bynoe-Gittens After Leweling Rejection

6:38 PM ET — Chelsea Maintain No-Loan Position on Gittens

Jamie Bynoe-Gittens will not be allowed to leave Chelsea on loan, according to Filippo Biafora.

The Premier League club’s position has not changed despite reports of a possible late opening, creating another significant obstacle to Roma’s attempt to sign the winger before the transfer deadline.

Chelsea could reportedly open the door to a paid loan carrying a €5 million fee and an option to buy worth approximately €55 million.

Roma are considering making a new overnight attempt to sign Jamie Bynoe-Gittens from Chelsea, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

The Premier League club could open the door to a paid loan after previously resisting Roma’s preferred transfer formula. The proposed structure would reportedly include a €5 million loan fee and an option to buy worth approximately €55 million.

Chelsea could reconsider loan position

Roma pursued Bynoe-Gittens throughout the closing stages of the transfer window, but Chelsea’s refusal to sanction a loan prevented negotiations from progressing.

That position could now change as the deadline approaches. The reported formula would allow Chelsea to collect an immediate fee while giving Roma the opportunity to purchase the winger permanently at a later date.

No agreement has been reached, and Roma must determine whether the overall financial commitment is sustainable. A potential €55 million option would represent a major future investment, even if it were not mandatory.

Roma search for winger after Leweling rejection

The potential return for Bynoe-Gittens follows Jamie Leweling’s decision to reject Roma and remain at Stuttgart.

Roma had agreed a package worth €30 million plus €5 million in bonuses with the Bundesliga club, but Leweling ultimately decided against moving to the Italian capital.

The Giallorossi are also considering whether to revive negotiations with Zenit for Luiz Henrique. However, Bynoe-Gittens has remained one of Gian Piero Gasperini’s preferred attacking targets, and a late opening from Chelsea could bring the English winger back to the top of Roma’s list.

With the transfer deadline approaching, the club must move quickly if Chelsea formally approve the proposed loan structure.
