Roma are closely following Giorgi Kvernadze after the Georgian winger’s impressive start to the Serie A season with Frosinone.
Roma have added Giorgi Kvernadze to their list of potential attacking targets.
According to journalist Filippo Biafora, the Giallorossi management are closely monitoring the situation of the Frosinone winger following his excellent opening weeks in Serie A.
There is currently no indication of an offer or advanced negotiation between the clubs. Roma’s interest remains at the scouting stage as the club evaluates possible future additions to Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad.
Kvernadze Impresses With Frosinone
Kvernadze has emerged as one of the early revelations of the 2026/27 Serie A campaign.
The 23-year-old has started all five of Frosinone’s league matches, registering three goals and one assist. He has scored in three consecutive appearances, finding the net against Venezia, Genoa and Como.
His latest goal arrived during Frosinone’s 2-0 victory over Como.
Kvernadze has also impressed in the Coppa Italia, where he recorded two goals and one assist during Frosinone’s victory over Juve Stabia.
Across all competitions this season, the Georgian has therefore contributed five goals and two assists in six appearances.
Why Kvernadze Could Interest Roma
Kvernadze is naturally suited to the left side of the attack but is right-footed, allowing him to move inside and attack central areas.
That profile is significant for Roma. The club attempted to sign a right-footed left winger throughout the summer transfer window but failed to complete deals for several targets.
Gasperini has publicly acknowledged that Roma remain slightly short in that area, although the performances of Rodrigo Mora, Matias Soulé and Lorenzo Pellegrini provide the coach with alternative solutions.
Kvernadze would represent a younger and potentially more affordable option than some of the established names Roma considered during the summer.
Kvernadze Has Developed in Italy
The Georgian attacker joined Frosinone from Dinamo Batumi, initially arriving on loan before the Italian club exercised its option to sign him permanently.
He experienced his first taste of Serie A during the 2023/24 season but played only 58 league minutes across five substitute appearances.
Kvernadze subsequently developed during two seasons in Serie B. He registered three goals and five assists during the 2024/25 campaign before producing five goals and five assists in 36 appearances last season.
His performances helped Frosinone return to Serie A, where he has quickly demonstrated that he can make an impact at the highest level.
Kvernadze is reportedly under contract with Frosinone until June 2028.
Roma Continue to Assess Attacking Options
Roma’s interest in Kvernadze does not necessarily mean the club has abandoned its other attacking targets.
The Giallorossi continue to monitor several possibilities ahead of the January transfer window, including Zenit St. Petersburg winger Luiz Henrique.
The club has also assessed the available free-agent market, with Wilfried Zaha, Krépin Diatta and Raphaël Guerreiro among the names previously considered.
Kvernadze’s age, Serie A experience and tactical profile make him an understandable addition to Roma’s shortlist. For now, however, the club are observing his progress rather than actively negotiating a transfer.
