Daniele Ghilardi, Gianluca Mancini and Niccolò Pisilli have been called up to Italy’s squad for the final two Nations League matches against France and Belgium.
Roberto Mancini’s players will gather at Coverciano on Sunday, November 8, before facing France on November 12 and Belgium on November 15.
The three Roma players will join the national team after Saturday’s Serie A match against Sassuolo at the Stadio Olimpico.
Three Roma players selected by Mancini
The call-ups bring international recognition for three players contributing to Gian Piero Gasperini’s side.
Ghilardi has become increasingly involved in Roma’s defensive rotation and scored in the recent 5–2 victory at Udinese. His selection gives him another opportunity to carry that progress into the national-team setup.
Gianluca Mancini brings his experience to Italy’s defensive options, while Pisilli’s inclusion follows a busy period in Roma’s midfield. The academy graduate has taken on additional responsibility during the club’s injury problems and scored against both Slovan Bratislava and Cagliari.
International commitments follow Sassuolo
Roma’s meeting with Sassuolo is their last fixture before the international break. After that, the Italian trio will head to Coverciano to prepare for the two Nations League games.
They are not the only Giallorossi players receiving international recognition: Rodrigo Mora has also been named in Portugal’s senior squad for the upcoming fixtures.
