Gian Piero Gasperini could make his first significant rotations of the season as Roma prepare to play their third match in seven days.

Roma enter match with perfect Serie A record
Roma have collected nine points from their opening three league games, scoring ten goals and conceding only once.
After comfortable 4-0 victories over Fiorentina and Lecce, Gasperini’s team demonstrated greater resilience by recovering from behind to defeat Atalanta 2-1 at the Stadio Olimpico.
Roma then returned to the Champions League after seven years away, with Bryan Cristante scoring in a 1-1 draw against Fenerbahçe in Istanbul.
The performance in Turkey was physically demanding, however, and Torino will hope to capitalize on Roma having less time to recover.
Torino looking to build on first victory
Torino began their Serie A campaign with defeats against Milan and Sassuolo before being eliminated from the Coppa Italia by Monza.
Their first victory arrived away to Fiorentina, where Che Adams scored twice to secure a much-needed 2-1 result for Ignazio Abate’s side.
The Granata are expected to defend with three centre-backs and attempt to threaten Roma through direct attacks and transitions. Adams, Nikola Vlašić and Giovanni Simeone provide physicality and movement in the final third.
That approach could challenge a Roma defence that occasionally struggled when Fenerbahçe attacked quickly and carried the ball directly through midfield.
Roma team news: Pellegrini set to return
Lorenzo Pellegrini could receive his first Roma call-up of the season after 157 days away from competitive action.
According to the Corriere dello Sport, the midfielder is ready to return to the squad after training with his teammates and gradually increasing his workload.
Pellegrini is not expected to start, but he could receive his first minutes of the campaign against Torino or during the following match against Inter. His return follows weeks of progressive work at Trigoria.
Manu Koné is unlikely to start after leaving the Fenerbahçe match with knee discomfort. Roma are evaluating the midfielder on a day-to-day basis, but no further medical examinations are currently planned.
Dybala and Malen could be rested
Paulo Dybala is expected to begin on the bench after completing the full match in Istanbul.
Donyell Malen could also receive a rest, opening the door for Santiago Castro to make his first Serie A start for Roma. The Argentine striker is still looking for his first Giallorossi goal.
Matias Soulé and Rodrigo Mora are the leading candidates to play behind Castro if both Dybala and Malen are left out of the starting lineup.
Gasperini is reportedly considering changes throughout the team before the following weekend’s match against Inter.
Balerdi pushing for first Roma start
Leonardo Balerdi could replace Gianluca Mancini on the right side of Roma’s three-man defence.
Mancini has started every competitive match this season but was substituted during the second half against both Atalanta and Fenerbahçe. Balerdi and Daniele Ghilardi are competing for his place, with Balerdi currently appearing the more likely choice.
Mario Hermoso and Evan Ndicka should retain their positions, although Ghilardi provides Gasperini with another rotation option.
Wesley could also be rested. Emanuele Lulli is expected to return on the right, with Devyne Rensch or Nahuel Molina capable of operating on the opposite flank.

Torino continue to monitor Saul Coco and Cesare Casadei.
Coco has been working separately after suffering a heavy contusion against Fiorentina. The defender remains uncertain for Monday, with Ardian Ismajli ready to start if he is unavailable.
Casadei has resumed running but remains a major doubt due to a muscular problem. Duván Zapata is continuing his individual recovery program and could return to the bench.

The issue is not considered serious, but Gasperini could rest the Frenchman ahead of next weekend’s meeting with Inter. Niccolò Pisilli is now the leading candidate to replace Koné and partner Bryan Cristante in midfield after impressing from the bench in Istanbul.
