Manu Koné and Emanuele Lulli included in Roma’s squad against Torino

Roma announce squad for Torino clash as Koné and Lulli are called up

Roma have announced Gian Piero Gasperini’s squad for Monday’s Serie A match against Torino, with Manu Koné and Emanuele Lulli both included.

Koné was considered a doubt after leaving the Champions League draw with Fenerbahçe because of discomfort in his knee. Lulli, meanwhile, had been suffering from flu symptoms and a fever.

Both players have recovered sufficiently to be called up, although Gasperini must still determine whether they are ready to start.

Koné included after knee concern

Koné was replaced by Niccolò Pisilli during the second half against Fenerbahçe and subsequently trained separately at Trigoria.

Roma did not schedule further medical examinations because the problem was not considered serious. Gasperini revealed during his pre-match press conference that Koné would attempt to train before a final decision was made.

His inclusion is encouraging, but Pisilli remains a strong candidate to start alongside Bryan Cristante.

Roma have been assessing Koné’s knee discomfort on a day-to-day basis.

Lulli recovers from illness

Lulli has also been called up after dealing with a fever during Roma’s preparations.

The academy graduate has established himself as an important first-team option under Gasperini and is competing with Devyne Rensch and Nahuel Molina for a place on the right flank.

His availability gives Gasperini another option as he considers rotating his lineup following the trip to Istanbul.

Pellegrini returns after 157 days

Lorenzo Pellegrini is included in Roma’s squad for the first time this season after 157 days away from competitive action.

Gasperini confirmed Pellegrini’s return during his pre-match press conference ahead of Torino versus Roma.

The midfielder is unlikely to start, but he could receive his first minutes of the campaign from the bench.
