Roma youngsters Emanuele Lulli and Niccolò Pisilli during a match

Italy coach to watch Emanuele Lulli and Niccolò Pisilli in Torino vs Roma

Emanuele Lulli and Niccolò Pisilli will reportedly be observed by the Italian national team during Roma’s Serie A match against Torino.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Italy’s head coach is expected to attend this evening’s game at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino and evaluate the two Roma youngsters from the stands.

Torino wing-back Alessio Cacciamani will also be monitored by members of the Azzurri’s technical staff.

Lulli and Pisilli under consideration for Italy

Italy will return to action against Belgium in the Nations League on September 25 in Rome.

The squad is expected to be announced next Friday and could contain approximately 35 players, potentially creating an opportunity for several emerging talents to receive recognition.

Lulli has become one of the biggest surprises of Roma’s season. The academy graduate earned Gasperini’s confidence during preseason and has since demonstrated the speed, endurance and tactical discipline required to compete for a starting position.

His progress was recently recognized when he and Rodrigo Mora were included among the candidates for the 2026 Golden Boy award.

Lulli has recovered from a fever and was called up for Roma’s match against Torino.

Pisilli could start against Torino

Pisilli could receive an important opportunity after replacing Manu Koné during the second half of Roma’s Champions League draw with Fenerbahçe.

Koné has been managing discomfort in his knee, leaving Pisilli as a leading candidate to partner Bryan Cristante in midfield against Torino.

A starting appearance would give the 21-year-old an opportunity to impress the Italy coach directly. Gasperini has praised Pisilli’s growing maturity and considers him an important part of Roma’s midfield rotation.

Cacciamani also monitored

Cacciamani has established himself as an important option on the left side for Torino despite being only 19 years old.

The former Roma transfer target recently signed a new contract with the Granata until 2031 and is expected to play a prominent role against Gasperini’s side.

The presence of Lulli, Pisilli and Cacciamani gives the national team staff an opportunity to evaluate three promising Italian players during the same fixture.
