Torino players preparing for the Serie A match against Roma

Torino announce 24-man squad for Roma clash: Simeone and Zapata included

Torino have announced their 24-man squad for this afternoon’s Serie A meeting with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

The match kicks off at 18:30 CEST as Gian Piero Gasperini’s side attempt to maintain their perfect start to the domestic season. Roma have won their opening three league matches and are seeking a fourth consecutive victory to retain their place at the top of the table.

Torino enter the contest in improved spirits after recording their first league victory of the campaign against Fiorentina.

Simeone and Zapata called up for Torino vs Roma

Ignazio Abate has included both Giovanni Simeone and Duván Zapata in his squad despite uncertainty surrounding their fitness during the build-up to the game.

Simeone had been managing a back problem, while Zapata has continued working through a personalized recovery program. Their inclusion gives Abate additional attacking options, although it remains unclear whether either player is ready to start.

Defender Saúl Coco has also been called up after recovering from the contusion that forced him to train separately. Nikola Vlašić, Rolando Mandragora, Pietro Comuzzo, Archie Brown Patterson and Ardian Ismajli are among the other notable names included.

However, Che Adams and Cesare Casadei are absent from the final list. Abate confirmed during his pre-match press conference that Adams had suffered an adductor injury, while Casadei had been attempting to recover from a muscular problem.
