Roma are still waiting to establish whether Manu Koné, Paulo Dybala and Pierluigi Gollini will be available against Sassuolo, with reports offering different assessments of their recovery.
Gian Piero Gasperini could welcome back important options for Saturday’s match, but a return after the international break remains a possibility for both Koné and Dybala.
Koné targeting Sassuolo, but caution remains
According to Il Romanista, Koné is close to gradually rejoining group training, with the aim of making the squad for Sassuolo.
Repubblica offers a more cautious assessment, suggesting Roma could wait until after the international break rather than push his recovery.
The French midfielder’s availability therefore remains uncertain. A return to training would be a step forward, but would not necessarily mean he is ready to feature on Saturday.
Dybala set for fitness assessment
La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Dybala will undergo a fitness test today to determine whether he can be included in the squad.
Il Romanista, however, identifies the Parma match after the international break as his recovery target.
For now, there is no firm indication that the Argentine will return against Sassuolo. Today’s assessment should help Roma decide whether a call-up is realistic or whether he needs more time.
Gollini’s back problem still being monitored
There are also differing reports on Gollini, whose back problem ruled him out of the Champions League defeat to Manchester United.
La Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport report signs of improvement, while Il Romanista says the goalkeeper is still experiencing lower-back pain.
Devis Vásquez remains ready to deputise again if Gollini cannot recover in time.
With the international break approaching, Roma must weigh the possibility of recovering players for Sassuolo against giving them additional time to return fully fit.
